FRESH CHOCOLATE MUFFINS IN BRUSSELS CITY CENTER

The muffins at The Unusual are one of those things that people don't expect to be as good as they are. You walk in for a coffee, you see the muffins in the display, you think "sure, why not" — and then you're thinking about that muffin for the rest of the day.

We bake them fresh daily at our cafe on rue Montagne aux Herbes Potagères 49, Bruxelles, right between Grand Place and Central Station. Chocolate, double chocolate, blueberry, and seasonal flavors that rotate. Each one is moist (yes, we're using that word because its the right word), dense in a satisfying way, and packed with actual flavor.

The texture is what gets people. Slightly domed top with a gentle crisp. Soft, rich inside. They're not dry. They're not crumbly. They're the kind of muffin where you find yourself picking up the crumbs from the plate because you don't want to waste any of it.

Our muffins aren't vegan, but if you're plant-based we've got you covered elsewhere in the bakery: fresh banana bread and chocolate chip cookies, both fully vegan and baked daily. Pair them with a vegan hot chocolate (54.5% or 80% cocoa — both naturally dairy-free) and one of our plant-based milks. We offer a wide range of dairy free alternatives such as soya, coco, almond and oat. Gluten-free muffin options are around too.
